The granite towers of Torres del Paine above a turquoise lake

Patagonia

Ten days among granite towers and milk-blue lakes, at a pace that leaves room to breathe.

What to expect

Patagonia does not ease you in. The wind arrives first, then the light — sharp and silver, scattering across lakes the colour of glacial milk. You will smell wet lenga forest and cold stone, and hear almost nothing else.

This is a journey built around the Torres del Paine, but it is not a march. We keep groups small and days unhurried, with time to stop when the towers clear, or to stay by the fire when they don't. Your guide reads the weather, not a schedule.

Evenings belong to the lodges — places we have slept in ourselves, where the lamb is local and the wine is poured without ceremony. You will end most days tired in the good way, and a little changed.

Best time to visit

The southern summer brings long days and the steadiest weather. Shoulder months are quieter still, with autumn colour in the forests.

Itinerary overview
Days 1–2

Arrival in Punta Arenas

Land on the edge of the Strait of Magellan. A slow first evening — pisco, fresh king crab, and an early night before the road north.

Day 3

Into Torres del Paine

A long, beautiful drive past guanaco and flamingo-dotted lagoons. You reach your lodge as the towers catch the last of the light.

Days 4–5

The base of the towers

A guided ascent to the foot of the three granite spires, at whatever pace suits you. Glacial streams, lenga forest, and that famous wind.

Day 6

Grey Glacier by water

A boat among the icebergs of Lago Grey, close enough to hear the glacier crack. The afternoon is yours — read, walk, or simply sit.

Days 7–8

The French Valley

The heart of the park, with hanging glaciers above and the Cuernos rising opposite. We keep the group small and the schedule soft.

Days 9–10

Estancia life and farewell

A night on a working estancia — lamb on the asado, horses at dawn — before the journey back south and home.
